ICD-10-PCS was developed as a replacement for ICD-9-CM, Vol. 3 for reporting hospital inpatient procedures. The design objectives were to improve coding accuracy and precision, reduce training efforts, and improve communication with clinicians. ICD-10-PCS has been developed and has undergone testing.  There is
